Aamir goes theatrical
Aamir Khan is back from his holiday in USA! There are a dozen directors and producers eagerly waiting to sign him as the lead for their projects. But Aamir Khan is taking it easy before jumps on to any venture. Surprise of surprises, Aamir has decided to try his hand at theatre. It seems he has agreed to do a play with Arundhati Nag, wife of the late Shankar Nag. The stage drama is dedicated to her husband and will be staged at Rang Shankara, Bangalore. At this rate it will be almost two years before we see this Khan on the silver screen.

Shekhar Kapur to make Lord Krishna
Director Shekhar Kapur has been approached to direct a film on Lord Krishna. Speaking to the press he said that the script was in its final stages. "The project is a lavish one and I'm looking forward to it," he said. Shekhar Kapur also spoke about his film on Nelson Mandela saying Mandela has sold to him the rights of his autobiography. "I had spoken to him about the film 11 years ago when he was in prison," he said. The film on Nelson Mandela stands to be South Africa's biggest film project and will be made in Hollywood style. Besides a film on Mandela, Kapur has five other films on hand but is still to decide which he will work on first.

Naseer in a Sean Connery film
After criticizing the inconsequential roles that Om Puri did in Western films, Naseeruddin Shah has himself now bitten the bait by agreeing to The League Of The Extraordinary Gentleman starring Sean Connery. Folks from the film industry look upon Shah's move as a positive one. But it was bad man Gulshan Grover who was considered for Shah's role initially. Grover opined that since they wanted someone who had dealt with villainous roles earlier, he suited the part best. Grover enviously also added that how filmmakers like Mira Nair and Shekhar Kapur were lobbying in for Naseeruddin Shah. It seems the character in the film is required to be aggressive and hard like a criminal and if one person who could do that convincingly it was Gulshan Grover. Only if Gulshan Grover accepts the fact that it was Shah who had bagged the role finally.

Ghai announces Nau Do Gyarah
The reason behind Amrita Arora’s presence next to the showman Subhash Ghai at the recently held Sony TV party, is out. Ghai has launched a new project titled Nau Do Gyrah under the Mukta Arts Banner. The film will be directed by David Dhawan and stars Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Govinda and Amrita Arora. As usual Jackie said that he was glad to be working with his mentor again while Govinda said that at last he was working with the Mukta Arts Banner after turning down Taal. The film will hit the floors soon.

Sunil-Ajay in Qayamat
The mahurat of Harry Baweja's Qayamat was held at Mumbai's Filmcity recently and had Ajay Devgan tied up to a chair as Sunil Shetty clad in an inspector's clothes interrogated him roughly. As soon as the mahurat shot was over Ajay and Sunil began cracking jokes like friends who have just met up with each other after a long time. Besides Ajay and Sunil the film also stars Arbaaz Khan, Sanjay Kapoor, Gracy Singh and Isha Koppikar and has music by Nadeem Shravan. Interestingly, this is the second film Ajay and Sunil are doing together, the first one being Dilwale. Sunil Shetty is also doing Karz -The Burden Of Truth with Harry Baweja co-starring Sunny Deol and Shilpa Shetty in key roles.

Speaking to the press, the producer said that his next film would be directed by Saroj Khan. "She had confided in me about her plans to direct a film. And I thought that if she planned to turn a director, why not do so with my film. We are yet to decide on the cast and crew of our film," he informed.
