Josh Review
Starring: Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Sharad Kapoor, Chandrachur Singh, Priya Gill
Music: Anu Malik
Direction: Mansoor Khan
After
Mansoor Khan's Josh releases after long await and hits the screen. In this movie ,
the two lead stars, Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai are playing the unlikely twins on the screens.
Moreover Shah Rukh Khan is back after is okay type Baadshah and Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani winning again hearts of everyone.
Josh has been inspired by the Hollywood classic West Side Story.
The film is about two gang rivals in Goa,the Eagle gang is headed by Max (Shah Rukh), the Bischchoo gang lead by Prakash (Sharad Kapoor). In the role of local police officer is inspector (Sharad Saxena), who needs one evidence to nail these gangs.
The bitterness between the gangs increases, Prakash's younger brother Rahul (Chandrachur Singh) returns to his hometown after completing his studies in Mumbai falls in love with Max's twin sister Shirley (Aishwarya Rai).
Mansoor Khan balances his story well, oscillating smoothly from the explosive showdown scenes between the two gangs, and the subtly developing romance between Rahul and Shirley. Aishwarya Rai is spontaneous as the lively Shirley. K V Anand's camera captures Ash's beauty in all its splendour. Between themselves, Shah Rukh and Ash strike a perfect screen chemistry, in spite of being cast as siblings.
Both Sharad Kapoor, as the tough Prakash, and Chandrachur Singh, as the sensible Rahul, measure up to the heights of superstars Khan and Ash. This could be a make or break effort for Kapoor and Singh, and they seem to have realized as much. Comparatively, Priya Gill as Max's romantic interest Rosa doesn't have much to do.
In short good performances, great editing, filled with action and some good music - Josh is
Definitely worth seeing.

Refugee Review!
Starring: Jackie Shroff, Sunil Shetty, Abhishek Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor
Directed BY J.P. Dutta
Music By: Anu Malik
J P Dutta's Refugee is the most-awaited film among the forthcoming releases that will flood the box office in the next couple of months. Refugee should open to a grand reception when it releases in June.
Coming from J P Dutta - whose last release Border was a smash hit - the film increases the hope. It is also the launchpad for Abhishek Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor, the two rising star Children of superstars who are expected to shine on the Bollywood sky in the years to come.
Like his earlier Border, Dutta's Refugee has at its centre the division line that separates India and Pakistan. Only, while Border dealt with the mutual animosity by a Pakistani attempt to intrude upon Indian territory and the ensuing battle of Longewaala, Refugee takes a human look at the fate on both sides who were rudely unsettled from their own soil on the basis of creed and religion, owing to the very political act of Partition.
Thematically speaking Refugee is a love story set in the times of war. Abhishek and Kareena play the torn lovers whose love story must survive the travails of Partition. Does their romance survive the partition? Like all his previous ventures, Dutta is keeping the end of the affair a closely-guarded secret this time too.
It has been found that Youthful romance under circumstantial resistance has always been a favourite theme with Bollywood filmmakers. As for the Mughal-E-Azam , Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Maine Pyaar Kiya,Dilwaale Dulhania Le Jayenge, & many more. The formula has never failed to send the cash boxes ringing.
Music director Anu Malik has also come up with a good music after long time. The melodious music song Panchhi, nadiya, pawan ke jhoke is already a on top chart.
Let us hope that Refugee will be able to make Abhishek in line with Hirthik!

Sunil is liked by media
Sunil Shetty is really liked by the media. Sunil is a big time star
today. Not only does he have his millions through his films but he has
also expanded his family business of hotels into a striking and
flourishing one. But call this man anytime of the day or night, he is
always available for an interview. Just the other day, one reporter
desperately wanted Sunil Shetty to give his viewpoint on an issue. He
quailed at the thought of waking him up at 1 in the morning. But
deadlines being what they are, he did and to his utmost surprise, the
mobile phone was answered by the man himself. He was just winding up
his restaurant "Thai Me Up" for the night so he requested the reporter
to call him up after half an hour by which time he would be home.
Thinking that he was just being fobbed off, the reporter hesitated
some more before calling up at the said time, which was about 1.30 in
the morning! And yes, Sunil, more than happily, gave the reporter the
quotes he wanted. Top
Sridevi on comeback trail
Sridevi is all set to make a comeback at the box-office, with the
long-delayed movie, "Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahin", which has now been
revived. A remake of the Vijaya Shanti, Suman Starrer, "Mondi Mogudu
Penki Pellam" (Telugu), the film also stars Akshay Kumar and Anupam
Kher. The last schedule for the film, which is to be released on
October 6, begins this month. Top
"Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" strikes gold
"Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" celebrates it golden jubilee run at many
centres in India. Written, produced and directed by Sanjay Leela
Bhansali, the film features Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan and Aishwarya Rai
in stellar roles. Lyrics by Mehboob have been set to lilting tunes by
Isamil Darbar. Art direction by Nitin Desai and cinematography by Anil
Mehta are other credits. Top
Eyes on Madhuri, Shah Rukh
This one's bound to please their fans no end. Ismail Merchant's told,
India West, that he'd love to work with Madhuri Dixit and Shah Rukh
Khan. He said, "Madhuri and Shah Rukh are indeed phenomenally
talented. I'd definitely use them in a film, if only I could come up
with a good enough story for both". His Madhur Jaffrey, Greta Scacchi
movie, "Cotton Mary" may have failed to cotton on to viewers. But
Merchant's already on to his next obsession -- an adaptation of the VS
Naipaul novel, "The Mystic Masseur". Shoots for the movie to be
directed by him begin in August in Trinidad. He will also produce "The
Golden Bowl", which, of course, will be directed by his bosom pal and
teammate, James Ivory. One hopes he will also have time for some good
old-fashioned scouting around -- for a script for the Madhuri, Shah
Rukh movie. That will be one cinematic bonanza Indian fans would love
to have him try. Top
"Daman" shooting in progress
Talking of Manoj Bajpai and "Shool" reminds us of Raveena Tandon, who
played the harried girl next door in it, shorn of formula and even
make-up. The performance has stuck in memory, with the non-glamorous
look adding to the effect. For a change, she even earned some good
press for her pains. As reported last week, she's just about wrapped
up her shoots for her next outing now, Kalpana Lajmi's "Daman", which
costars Sayaji Shinde, Sanjay Suri and Rhyma Sen. She's played a rape
victime in it, the trauma and scars it leaves behind comprising the
basic premise of the story. Lajmi and her unit are back in Mumbai
having completed the shoots in Assam, all within the month. Top

Queen of hearts
Here's our Princess at work again! After putting in her mite
completely for the rehabilitation of Nepal sex workers, Manisha
Koirala's going further. If you find her rattling off the latest
population figures of different nations now, don't raise your
eyebrows. It's merely because Manya has been selected as India's rep
at the UNFPA's seminar in Geneva. Manya will be presenting a paper on
population control, and this will be quite different from the dialogue
she usually reads and mugs up on the sets. The girl with the big heart
is current vacationing in Australia with family and friends, she will
fly to Geneva after that and is much excited. Naturally. Great to see
that even Whosane? and his royal ditch didn't her spirit any and she's
again shown why she's a Princess right after our heart!
