Hrithik look-alike: Pepsi's Tarun
Papa Roshan is very angry. Beta Roshan is dashing off letters to one and
all. Prahlad Kakkar is issuing statements denying any foul play. Whatever be
the reasons and the rumblings of the Pepsi-Coke war, circa 2000, one thing
is clear: It has made a hero out of an unlikely character-the
much-talked-about Hrithik Roshan lookalike.
Yes, Tarun Khanna is Dilli's contribution to the no-holds-barred advertising
melee. So, is Khanna really a lookalike of Hrithik the Heartthrob? Both are
the nursery-rhyme perfect Mother's Pets --- with a fair complexion, dimples
and grey eyes. What's more, their profile too seems to match. So, does he
like the lookalike tag? "I hate it," says Khanna, who also boasts of a hunky
frame like the Kaho Na... star. "I am nobody's lookalike. Hrithik Roshan has
his own personality and I have my own," remarks Khanna.
About his sudden entry into the Cola limelight, he says, "During the
audition, I did not know which Cola commercial I had auditioned for. In
fact, till I landed in Mumbai, I did not know that Shah Rukh Khan was to
star in the commercial." So, can one state that Khanna did not know about
the ad's spoofy-edge which has a beautiful girl rejecting a Hrithik clone
for Shah Rukh? Sounding much like Kakkar's mouthpiece, he says, "The ad is
not a spoof on anyone. I play a hunk out to impress a girl, who is,
obviously, not impressed by me and prefers Mr Khan."
Incidentally, this is not the first Pepsi commercial Khanna has done. A
product of the Khalsa College, Khanna got into modelling eight months ago.
And in such a short span, he has already done over 50 campaigns, including
five television commercials --- the Pepsi commercial for the promotion of
Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Pringles, Four Square, Airtel, Maruti and
Titan.
But isn't this moment of glory --- despite being reflected --- godsend? "I
think I have been lucky," admits Khanna, "It is not easy to get work,
especially television commercials sitting in Delhi. My latest Pepsi ad has
been well appreciated."
Lastly, has the Hrithik No 2 met the Hrithik No 1? "No. But I want to meet
him. He is God's gift to the dying film industry," says Khanna. Are you
listening, Pa Roshan? Baba Roshan?

Mother Moon shone on this planet
Moon Moon Sen and daughter Riya Sen spent this Mother's Day (May 14th) in a
novel way. They chose to mingle with the celebrity gazers at Planet M and
share aspects of their relationship with the crowd. Riya talked about how
supportive mumsy is and how she is, above all, a great friend. Other moms
were delighted when their kids won prizes for them in impromptu talent
contests.
What better way to cement an already strong bond than by public
demonstrations of affection and declarations of love like this!

Sushmita Sen:The “Exclusive “ is now Rare!
Yes, so India's done it again. Produced another winning beauty, that the
world …sorry Universe can't ignore. We're talking about Ms. India- Universe
2000, Lara Dutta. And while this country celebrates yet again the beauty of
its female populace, we wonder what the reaction of ex-Ms.Universe, Sushmita
is going to be? Considering how she'd always talked about the Ms. World tag
being the oft-won title, the Ms. Universe prize seemed a rather elusive and
exclusive one, which only she'd appropriated in recent times. Now, with that
exclusivity gone we wonder what Ms. Sensational is gonna do. Ask ex Ms.
World Aishwarya? Maybe.

Sandeep Chowta: Wanting to be Well Connected.
Talk about wanting to be with it! If there's anyone singing technology tunes
at the moment it has to be young music composer, Sandeep Chowtha.
Apparently, he's realized very early about the power and reach of the
Internet as a medium. In fact so clued in the music director about this
business, we hear his PR guys have been working hard trying to arrange live
chats with any and every film and music web site springing up. And why not?
With the music release of his newest movie Jungle, directed by Ram Gopal
Varma, Sandeep 's hoping his music reaches shores far and beyond. What
better way to do it than via the web. Smart kid Sandeep!. We sure believe
you're well - connected now!

Govinda: Big Demands!
It's old news now that the Internet business is one burgeoning industry in
India right now. And the newest star to grow aware of this technology spin
is our very own Hero No1, Govinda. Apparently the dancing hero has begun to
ask for phenomenal sums of money from film sites wanting to feature this
idol of the masses. Initially it was money charged off television channels
for making an appearance, now we guess it is the turn of the Web. Well, Chi
Chi getting pricey helps but only for so long, We hear, this incredible
entertainer has been turning down quiet a number of sites refusing to comply
with his demands. Now, now Chi Chi dear, don't be penny wise and pound,
foolish. While getting the big bucks might be important, getting an
international audience closer to you we, guess would help more. You've won
over the hearts of almost every Indian within this nation. How about warming
up to an NRI audience too!
