Sridevi makes a comeback
Actress Sridevi is all set to stage a comeback to acting albeit on the small screen. The serial, a Hindi version of the popular sixties American serial I Love Lucy will feature Sri playing the central character originally played by comedy queen Lucille Ball. It is heard that talks are already on with one television channel. Once the deal is cracked, the serial will be launched. So look out for another memorable portrayal by Sridevi on the idiot box soon.

Aamir Khan unnoticed in hometown
Amusingly, Aamir Khan’s hometown, Akhtiyarpur in Uttar Pradesh, is ignorant of the international stature of their hero’s home-production. It seems the film released in one non-descript theatre there, and failed to generate a response. While the rest of the nation rejoices, citizens of Akhtiyarpur continue life, absolutely neutral and blissfully oblivious to a sensation called Aamir Khan!

Coke turns the tables on Big B
The cola war seems to be getting vicious day by day. Coca Cola has now turned the tables on Pepsi in a recent ad where a Amitabh Bachchan lookalike will appear and do a takeoff on the new Pepsi ad featuring Sachin Tendulkar and the Big B. And the most interesting bit is that reportedly the new CEO of Coca Cola is a gentleman who was formerly the CEO of the Big B's company ABCL.

Lagaan now in Italian
While on the international release of LAGAAN, Ashutosh Gowariker informs that the film will be released all over Europe with sub-titles. "We've decided against dubbing it in any foreign language. That would take away the soul of the film," Ashutosh tells me, "The only country where the film would be released in the dubbed version is in Italy. Otherwise not."

Madhuri escapes blast
Now, this is called having a blast of a time, literally. Madhuri Dixit was recently in Kolkata for some brand promotion. The venue was one of the central localities of Kolkatta. Just hours before Madhuri was to appear onstage, there was an explosion that stunned everyone in the vicinity. There were no injuries though and Madhuri is as hale and hearty as ever. The program however was not disrupted and it continued without further glitch. According to reports, investigations into the blast are underway.

Malaika's pregnancy irks Sanjay Gupta
One woman's joy is other man's woe. As Malaika realized when she informed Sanjay Gupta of her pregnancy. Gupta was shocked to say the least. He still has a song to shoot on her for Kaante. Arora's doctor however, has warned her about how critical nature of the first three months of pregnancy. Even a little exertion could result in unfortunate accident, she has been advised. For Sanjay though, how to shoot the song for the film is the problem. "Now who do we rope in to do the song at the last minute?" is Sanjay's dilemma. Quite 'thorny' issue for Kaante, this!

No musical promos for Bobby-Akshaye-Amisha starrer
Rumour : It is learnt that you have devised an all-new strategy for the pre-release promotion of your Bobby-Amisha-Akshaye starrer HUMRAAZ. Contrary to the usual practice of initiating a promotional campaign with music promos, you have opted to make only action promos for the film. Could you tell us about the idea behind this new strategy?
Ganesh Jain : It's true that we have decided to screen exclusive action promos as part of the pre-release promotional campaign for HUMRAAZ. The decision was taken a month ago since all of us felt that repeated screening of music promos did not reflect on the theme and essence of the film. Besides, the audience, which is exposed to the music promos, tends to go out every time a song starts in the film. By merely showing the action promos, the songs will have tremendous curiosity value. I don't think this will reflect adversely on the music sales because in any case the music sales pick up after the theatrical release of a film. We are trying this out as an experiment and intend doing this for all our future productions.
