Road shows to promote MYKSH
Yash Raj Films and H.M.V. are going all out to promote MERE YAAR KI SHAADI HAI, which is scheduled to hit the theatres on June 7. The three principal stars of the film - Uday Chopra, Jimmy Shergill and Sanjana - are visiting various cities of India to promote the film, besides mixing with the common man as part of road shows. So far, the team has visited Hyderabad, Bangalore, Pune and Delhi and while you're reading this, the cast must've landed in Indore as part of the promotional tour. A road show in Mumbai is planned at the weekend.

Ramu's Bhoot
The grapevine is abuzz with the news that Ramgopal Varma is all set to start a horror flick after COMPANY. The film, titled BHOOT, will be shot in a start-to-finish schedule of 25 days at an outdoor location and will star Urmila Matondkar in the main lead. As for the male lead, the choice is between two heroes, but Ramu is working on the dates and will officially announce the name once everything is finalised. P.S.: Trustworthy sources tell us that it could be Abhishek Bachchan. Stay tuned...

Fardeen inaugurates Provogue studio
Fardeen Khan, on Sunday 26th May, inaugurated the Provogue franchisee in Thane aptly titled Provogue Studio.
As scheduled, he was right on time at 7 pm in the evening and the crowd went berserk as soon as he got off the car and walked into the store. However, some few lucky girls got a chance to pose for a click with him and get his autograph. He sure proved he is quite a hit with the females as he had them swooning all over him. Aishwarya ayes Sinhasan
Director Kalpana Lajmi has approached none other than Aishwarya Rai to play the lead in Sinhasan. Ash was pretty impressed with what she read and immediately agreed to do Lajmi's film. Insiders also insisted that the gorgeous actress had even showed keeness to produce the film along with her brother Aditya Rai. But Kalpana denied the stories saying that Ash was certainly not producing the film. "She has agreed to play the lead though!" Kalpana admitted. Kalpana added, "It is a powerful role. It's high time a beautiful and talented actress like Aishwarya Rai experimented with contemporary cinema. I'm sure she will win praises for this experiment!"

Jaya Prada: Being a guest
This seems to be a season of guest appearances. Almost anyone who is anyone has featured as a cameo in one film or the other. Not the one to be left behind, former member of Parliament and actress Jaya Prada has done a cameo for a Marathi film Aadhaar. The actress says the guest appearance is her payback to Maharashtra, as the state is responsible for the success she enjoys today. Incidentally, Akshay Kumar too has done a guest appearance in Aadhaar

Aamir's secret project
Everyone knows that Aamir Khan is planning a new project, which will be directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar once again. But not many are aware that the actor is seriously contemplting starting an international film catering to the international market. Although the project is very much in 'discussion' stages, it is being speculated that a Hollywood studio will co-produce the project. Let's await the announcement from Aamir!

Positively on June 7th
Amidst speculation that THE LEGEND OF BHAGAT SINGH may get postponed, Kumar Taurani tells us that they are more than confident of releasing their film on the scheduled date -- June 7. On the eve of departure for London to meet A.R. Rahman (to record the background score of T.L.O.B.S.), Taurani told us that they were working round-the-clock to meet the deadline and had even started booking the theatres in every circuit.
Incidentally, besides the two films on Shaheed Bhagat Singh, which are scheduled to release on June 7, AWARA PAAGAL DEEWANA and MERE YAAR KI SHAADI HAI are also confirmed for the date. The rush to grab the best of theatres by the respective distributors is on.

The clash is keenly awaited
June 15, 2001 saw the clash of Sunny Deol's GADAR and Aamir Khan's LAGAAN. This year, on June 7, the Deols will clash with the Devgan. Sunny and Bobby Deol's 23RD MARCH 1931 SHAHEED will come face to face with Ajay Devgan's THE LEGEND OF BHAGAT SINGH. But for most industry people it's not the clash of the heroes, but the clash of the makers that they're looking forward to -- Sunny and Rajkumar Santoshi, respectively. All we can say is, let the best (film) win!
