What is "The Mumbai Grapevine" ?

The Mumbai Grapevine is an e-mail list geared for people who wish to keep in touch with the city of Mumbai. This Grapevine from Mumbai will carry regular news and information about the city. There might also be occasional articles (opinions, features) written by fellow Mumbaiyaas that will keep you informed and updated.

This is planned to be a low-volume (1-2 messages a day) informational list (no discussions) only. If you wish to contribute to the list, please write to list-admin@mumbai-central.com. If you are interested in writing about events, issues and life in the city, let us know. Such material is most welcome.

Also, feel free to write to us with your opinions and concerns about the Mumbai Grapevine. Your feedback will help us make this list as well as Mumbai Central more useful.

Rationale

Bombay is one of the most modern cities of India, and over the course of centuries, has attracted people from all over the world, thereby transforming it into a fascinating cosmopolitan region.

Being the economic and financial capital of India, it is only natural that people from all over the world would like to acquire accurate and useful information about Bombay. The Mumbai Grapevine will go a long way in meeting these needs.

This mailing list is very different from nukkad. nukkad is a high volume, open, un-moderated discussion list whereas the Grapevine is an informational list only.
