Why heal my bleeding heart?

Why does he try to heal my bleeding heart?
Only to debilitate it with the beat of smouldering passions?
Why does he try to empathise with my overwhelming sadness,
Only to walk out on me, my love, my begging desires?
Why does he try to make me get up on my own,
Only to kick out at my being, sooner than later?
Why does he enmesh me in the throes of amorous affection,
Only to turn away as I approach with my hungry lips?

Why does he weave a dream-a-minute in the courtyard of my mind,
Only to steal it by the reams, some days later?
Why does he decorate my life with the intricacies of affection,
Only to destroy all by scattered words of sickening hatred?

I have not the strength to see through these sterile troughs of vacuous life,
Why does he throw straws of hope, of lust for me to grab at,
Only to rescind the same as I hopefully approach ?
Why does he destroy the last vestiges of my effervescent passion,
When I never asked him to stoke it, why does he strike thus?
