They saw the boys horoscope at their astrologer's place,
The boy was of good stock and of a good post,
They naturally enlisted for joining the rat-race,
They contacted the boy's place before others-well almost.

This was one of the several applications that the boy had got,
This was one among the several,
The boy's side were already dissecting the lot,
The mother made sure she checked the proposals well.

They were not really after horoscope matches,
They were more into the girl's personality,
The horoscope was one among their escape hatches,
In case the other features bordered on triviality.

Never mind that the boy didn't look too great,
Nor that he had an affair a year ago,
That seemed to be structured into the girl's fate,
That didn't make him in any way her foe.

The girl did feel a little sad,
That she wasn't the first one in the boy's life,
But then, she did feel overwhelmingly glad,
That he had chosen her as his wife.

On the night of the nuptials,
As the boy took her in his arms,
