The sinner

He exorcised my latent desires, my passions;
My restless spirits intensified by his presence,
Just when I was settling, he made my inner pelf
A bundle of nervous, restless miasma.
Tickling away at my sad being, subjecting it to helpless laughter.

He made off with the last vestiges of my diluted peace.
Leaving me tossing and turning on the bed, tired and without
A wink of the ever-elusive sleep;
My sleep-laden eyes were impregnated with want, wait, desire.
All the time, he wove a silken weave of wondrous dreams, enrapturously.

Angst turned to hope, desire, lust,
A ray of languorous want in my sterile, vacuous life; Taking me as I was, no quarters given, no room for escape,
A grey-white palette turned into a rainbow of tiltillating colours.

My white, desirous cheeks, he made it the colour of a smouldering red of desire,
The clicket-clacket of my bangles turned into soul-stirring melodies.
The reality of a sterile life, turned into a lush green, inviting valley of desire,
Exalting me from a stirring bud into a blooming flower.
Such was his art, such was his Power.
