LOVE IN WORSHIP

Humans are never more lost than when they love what they worship.

Love is between equals, who know not tomorrow and what it brings
Love requires uncertainty of outcome so there is a winning of hearts
Love requires the possibility of not being fulfilled and painfully losing.

Love rises with youth and runs a mad course where each may fall
Love settles down with the years and becomes the steady mature pull
Love grows old with age and becomes sad at who will go first
Love lingers in the ashes of the beloved when form is no more.

Love defies age and illness and slower limbs and sudden death
When mortal loves mortal they do so surrounded by uncertainty
There is courage in such love and faith in it's ultimate endurance
Such love prevails in the midst of shadows dark and shades.

Love is therefor uniquely human and not open to anyone else
Gods cannot love as humans do, their love contains dispensation
Their love has no element of fear for they are immortal and forever
Their love has no uncertainty therefor they cannot be certain in love.

Love requires that lovers be from the beginning a mystery to each other
And know each other over time and find ill nature or profound heart
Love can offer itself on no more than a warm feeling in the heart
The one so loved can now reciprocate or turn around and run.

Humans cavort with Krishna and make much of pots and maids
They call him Kanhaiyya and Bal Krishna and Gau-Vardhan
They take on the role of Radha the Surrogate, the Sautan
They who may die of heart stroke in the night love an immortal
This is not love but a bid for protection camouflaged as love
They thus sing Krishna love me but mean protect me at death.

Others want to love as Meera, dancing, did her Krishna
Meera dances so they dance, and expect to love like she did.

While they profess love, they also adulate and pray and praise
You can praise your lover, but not pray in adulation to him
You can kiss your love, will you kiss Krishna on his blue lips?

If you must love, love your love who will reciprocate or not.

If not, then love your own self and the mystery which in inside
Love the jyoti which is burning before the Gods were born
Love the Adi Avastha, the state of primordial being before form.

Love is uniquely your own birth right. Use it well or you'll lose it.
