Mumbai-Central.comWhere Mumbaikars meet |
[From Srikant]
Hi there !
Here in Mumbai, Gokulashtami was celebrated with a little more noise
than usual - many companies like Colgate sponsored the events and
people were seen wearing T-shirts with the companies' logos on them.
A lot of foreigners seem to be visiting the city nowadays, with a few
even settling down for some time due to work or just for fun. But no
special schemes have been introduced to build up the tourism industry.
Meanwhile trains and buses get more crowded by the day in spite of new
services launched every now and then. It recently rained for about 3
days continuously, throwing everything in the city out of gear. But its
back to business as usual, with everyone smiling cheerfully and rushing
off to work.
Preparations are already underway for the Ganesh festival. Each year,
its grander and on a bigger scale. And bigger and bigger idols are
made each time.
Srikant.
