Actually There are banks like Marine Midland which send money for upto 
$20. There is no limit on the amount you send if you account with them
otherwise I think it is $3000. Which if you considers comes to about a 
cent per dollar. I do think it is most safe and reliable way. It takes 
about 10-15 days to reach and money is directly deposited in some 
Indian Bank Account.
