Hi all,
As suggested by one of you one must address solutions to the problems
instead of ranting about them. But first let us list the apparent problems
at a very micro level n take it from there to finding out what causes them
in the first place n consequently find a solution which may or may not be
implemented(some implmentation schemes r not in everybodys hand) .
To start with I have tried to compile a list of problem with a very
laymanish point of view. Fundamental everyday problems which people of all
classses face n I have not refined my listing on economic or social basis.
* Utter disregard to adherance to rules that are meant for ones own
benefit. We seeem to believe in utter chaos everywhere. The saddest part is
there is no method to this madness.Be it public services which stink of
complacency n indiscipline be it general conduct of the local population(eg
standing in ques ,maintaining cleanliness etc)or be it any organisation we
seem to accept anything fate puts in our stride.
* Extreme self centeredness n utter inability to work as a group.an indian
as an individual might be excellent but we are big time losers when it comes
to working as a team. All we can think of is our own good n that speaks for
our narrow-mindedness. Time and again many people to have conquered India
have blatantly mentioned this fact & yet we dont seem to improve. We still
act like crabs trying to pull down anybody who seems to be on the way
up.This self centeredness when shown by people in high offices and
beaureaucracy translates into corruption .Like other fellow country men even
the leaders cannot think beyond themselves.
* Extreme narrow mindedness n a highly hetrogenous social structure inspite
of the facade of unity n homogenety of people. One can observe that we are
divided on every possible grounds caste, religion, language and what not and
the more I try n understand the more complicated it becomes.
* The so called great culture reeks of hypocrisy. We do the very things
which are supposed to be demeaning. We speak endlessly on the demerits of
many things which we all secretly desire. We say so many thngs we dont mean
.All in all we lack the guts to "call a spade a spade".
* We are inherently not adventurous by nature dont believe i experimenting
and blindly accept whatever is meant to be accepted.Maybe thats why we were
lying here like a sitting duck waiting to be vaquished instead of venturing
out in search of new lands when the rest of the world was doing so in the
middle ages. This we did inspite of the fact that our civilisation was
supposedly more advanced at that time.
Now look at what all this has lead to
* All long we used to blame the Brits n other rulers for not having given
us a chance to move ahead .But 50 years after independence where are we
.Frankly speaking ----NOWHERE. Our GDP n literacy rate is among one of the
lowest in the world . India has more malnourishment than sub-Saharan
Africa. Our vast natural and human resources are being criminally wasted and
countries with not even a fraction of potential as us are centuries ahead of
us.now all the problems and fact files apart what do u'll think is the root
cause of all this?
" LACK OF SELF RESPECT"
It is this from which everything else has sprung up.This is what leads to
this pseudo-secularism & self defeatism which is largely the stance taken
by the impotent media n beaurocracy. Why in hells name are some people let
off lightly n some not for the same acts. Why is the media so selective in
crying foul at the top of their lungs.Tell me something -- would situations
like Kashmir happen in any self respecting country with absolutely no fear
of serious repurcussions elsewhere .Imagine that in countries like Israel
who have learnt it the hard way by means of centuries of haulocausts. shame
on us we havent even learnt it yet.Where on earth would forcible conversions
be allowed and anti national elements allowed to vociferously voice their
opinions in the very land that nurtures them, assisted by none other than
the media.
High time we learnt that secularism is not the subjugation of the majority
but accomodation of the minorities as is practised in other civilised
nations.
We allow all this to happen because we have no sense of identity as
Indians.Anyways India as a geographical mass has never been a source of
identity ever in history.Identity of this nation has been the faith of the
majority and this should be recognised. This failing to happen the future is
more than hazy for us.This absolutely does not insinuate that the minority
be plundered --- they should be protected but not pampered.
So I still say that the web-site "www.swordoftruth.com" is not a
fundamentalist newspaper but is an earnest appeal to awaken people so that
right steps are taken in good time to prevent disarray of the nation &
uncontrollable volcanic eruptions later. It does not attack any minority
community but only puts forth the woes of the majarity for all to understand
. Pray tell me isnt educating people about prevalent problems a part of
finding the solution??????????
