The list is setup so that hitting 'reply' sends the reply to the original
sender. If you wish to send the reply to the entire list, you will have
to use the 'Reply all' (or 'Group reply') option. You could of course 
manually add the list address in the 'To' or the 'Cc' fields.

The setting errs on the side of caution and prevents sending personal 
messages to the entire list by accident.

Hope this explains the rationale. 

BTW, 'nukkad' was initially setup to have the reply sent to the entire
list. A number of long, personal on-list discussions that should have been
off-list convinced me to change the setting.
