Let me try and clear a few misconceptions.

First, let me tell you that the Christianity has many denominations.
They range from the church of Rome to the Methodists, Calvinists ,
Evangelical churches , Baptists, Presbyterian, Jehovah's Witnesses and so on
and so forth.

The main Catholic Church of Rome does not promote conversion.

But for the Baptists , Evangelists et all  preaching Christ and converting
people is more or less the be all and the end all of their existence.

Please focus on the last four words. And yes I find that disgusting too.

Now, if a person wishes to convert under the guidance of the Roman Catholic
church he/she needs to have very concrete grounds to do so. He/she will be
interviewed thoroughly by the priests for ascertaining their intentions.
He/she needs to have a sponsor who has to be Cahtolic and who should be well
acquainted with the individual. Only after rigourous enquiry is the person
converted and made Catholic.
In all the years that I have spent in Bombay, in my parish I have seen only
two individuals who were converted on their accord. One was a Parsee woman
and another was a Bohri man. No one was forced.

Now, as far as their Baptists are concerned their agenda contains conversion
and propagation of their faith on the top of all other activities.
The term used for this propagation is "planting Churches".

That is where their name comes in "Baptist" as in those who baptise.
Their intentions you can very well gauge from the portion I have pasted
above. And money is no problem since they are well funded from abroad.

This is a form of fanaticism which is frowned upon by the Roman Catholic
Church and does not have popular support.

One of my relatives is a member of a evangelical sect called "New Life" or
some such name.
More often than not you will find him preaching somewhere and most of the
time he gets beaten up also but he still continues. That is his faith so he
will bear the fruits.

But,  please don't blame all for the deeds of a few.

RSS activists and Marxists getting killed in Tripura a couple of years ago
does
not authorise the Bajrang Dal to catch hold of the nearest Baptist Priest
and beat the shit out of him.
What do they think they are doing ? Commemorating the death anniversary by
assaulting other Baptists  so that the souls of the departed are placated ??

There can be no justification for killings of any sort, but you cannot use
past killings to justify present and future assaults.

If long ago Mughal invaders ravaged temples and slaughtered  by
the thousands it does not mean that Hindus take revenge now on the current
crop of Muslims.

When two Sikhs shot down Indira Gandhi (b'cos of Operation Bluestar) it was
no
justification for the Sikh holocaust of 1984.

When you look closely, there is blood on your hands also.

But why am I blaming you ?

You did not kill any Sikh or Muslim I am sure.

Just as I am sure that the priest in Thane did not have any Hindu killed nor
did he have any hand in the death of the Marxists and the RSS activists.

If the Baptists in Tripura have in the name of religion killed then they
will get what is coming to them.

But what is the RSS or the Bajrang Dal doing ?
What is that they do except wear short pants and do stick execises ?

Oh yes they make speeches which do not heal but deepen wounds.

How many of these so called patriots have gone to Kashmir to fight the
militants ?
How many have given up their lives for their country ? (Mind you I said
country not religion)

Ninad, you and your mates have done well to repay their debts to their
country by serving the poor and the deprived.

But remember, people who kill do not have any religion or faith. They are
simply killers.
