   this answer is to the best of my knowledge n purely acasdemic in nature
too.

   "koran" being a proper noun doesnt make any difference if spelt as
"quaran" .it is the name of a holy text n can be spelt anyways as long as it
sounds the same.

   the koran  in arabic but is available in many other languages .as for me
i have seen an english translation of it.

 a chaste muslim shall only eat halal meat .but there mught be a few who
dont just like some brahmins who eat meat but are not supposed to.
  it is a beleief in islam that chopping an animal suddenly is detrimental
to the quality of meat and consequently ones health beacause they say it
produces certain chemicals which are not conducive to human body. so they
slit the throat of the animal n let it bleed to death .this is halal meat. n
every muslimis supposed to eat in meat prepared in this manner.
