A cricket fanatic who couldn't get a ticket for the Headingley Test has
hired a 40ft crane so he can watch the action.

Australian Stuart Jeffrey flew 9,000 miles from Perth to see his team - but
the match was sold out.

So Stuart hired a £170-a-day crane, parking it outside the B&B which backs
on to the Leeds cricket ground.

Fellow Australian Greg Swedosh, 37, over for the cricket and in the same
B&B, agreed to share the cost.

The pair bought a crate load of cans, took their seats and - at the press of
a button - got their own grandstand view of the fourth Test.

They even put a banner on the outside saying, 'The 40 Foot Club, Down Under
On Top.'

Stuart, an engineer, told The Sun: "I came here especially for the Test but
had left it too late to get a ticket. Then I was sitting in the pub and my
mind got wandering.

"We might have got cheaper tickets from a tout but this made it a truly
memorable occasion."
