Dear Anshuman
             I believe you have misunderstood my intent. Believe me, I’m no 
unbelieving disciple Thomas insisting on proof. Agreed that I did enquire 
about proof from Guptaji, but then the subject in question was controversial 
in nature.  Isn’t it fair to ask for proof espessially in these days when 
the fine line between fact and rumour is fast blurring? Perhaps what you 
said is true that a lack of credible locally complied historical archive has 
denied the post independence generation an insight into past happenings.  I 
have no illusions about the past being cosy and warm. Pesecution and 
harassment in the name of religion is not a phenomenon unique to Indian 
subcontinent. However having said that it is also important to tag whatever 
new information one acquire to a proper source. Don’t you agree?  I meant 
the term “documented evidence” only in a general sense really. It does not 
rigidly mean something put on paper in a government archive. Also I do find 
Guptaji’s statements credible and that is the reason why I’m enquiring about 
more details. Else I would have completely ignored the message in the first 
place.
