It is not a muslim ritual .I have never heard it before ever in my life and it has no sanction in any muslim book.
I show mercy to Human because for me human life is more precious then animal life.
We kill goat and cow because , we are allowed to eat them.Its natural and those who under their so called religious extremism become vegan and think themselves non violent and better human beings should realise the following facts.

(-Nordic countries are the most meat eating countries in the world , yet strife free.Gujrat is the most vegeterain state in India , yet most violent religious riots have taken place over there e.g. In Surat , vegetarians ,respecting cows and goats have cut the breasts of Meat eating women(read Muslim) during 1992-93 riots.Adolf Hitler was a vegetarian.Of so many people who have got noble price in this century , almost all of them were non vegetarians.The symbol of compassion and piety Mother Teressa was a non vegetarian.Why am I giving you this example, for me the the example of the ultimate human being is sufficient and that is the example of Muhammad (may peace be upon him).I would rather follow his habits.Go and read Ramayana ,even Rama used to have meat dishes and so does all the Kshtariyas.)

I am not denying the sanctity to animal life.Cattles are kept under far better conditions in Western and Muslim Countries then in India where old cows and buffaloes are just left to die their own death.And as far as eating vegetarian food is concerned, don't you think even plants have life.Before you eat that spinach, listen to the cries of the leaf.
Had there been not so many meat eaters in India, there would have been abundance of cattles in India and the grass that you are having as food would have fallen short for you and your beloved Cows and goats.The problem of being extreme in religion plays havoc with human mind.Hinduism in its early days never stressed so much on being vegetarian.The aryans were meat eaters, they used to do yagnas.The atharva ved is full of such shlokas.
I am more concerned about people dying of starvation in Orissa then about being veg or non veg.If got more doubt please ask.
