Hi Gang,

  It seemed like midnight. But the early rays of Sun
penetrated into my room and the sweet tunes of the
birds woke me up. Let’s not forget that alarm clock
that had impatiently sung the same tune and irritated
me. Time to get up and off for the class. Lucky are
those who were still asleep and dreaming. 
   As usual I managed to take a short nap in the
class. Some habits never die. But the professor is a
clever lady. She would randomly call out names of
students to read the text. That was torture, believe
me. Lucky me, my kind, loving, and attentive
classmates would prompt me. 
  The lobby is a special place in this building. One
can sit there for hours without feeling bored.  Just
occupy one of the comfortable sofas in the lobby, sip
a cup of strong coffee and sit watching people. The
aroma of the delicacies being served at the café is
irresistible. A piece of black forest cake is my
favorite here. 
   At times one might feel one is witnessing a fashion
show, one by one the pretty girls dressed in weird
attire would walk in and out of this lobby, of course
they are not without escorts! Yet, at other times, one
might feel thrown onto the stage where a comedy show
is being staged. On Saturdays, one could see cute kids
running here and there, playing. For those ears
longing to hear to dreamy music, this was the place
during concerts. 
  Again, at times I would feel like an alien listening
to all kinds of noises that these humans made using
their vocal cords. Was it English, French, German,
Kannada, Hindi or WOT? It was English in a mixed-mode,
mixture of desi and pardesi estyle of speaking! 
  Friends and me were lucky one morning, our eyes
actually had the rare pleasure of seeing some
well-built hunks. Lots of activities happen here and
it’s fun to watch. Just think of any scene from any
movie and you would be witnessing it here. Romantic
place, I must say.
  The first time I visited this place, I feel in love
with it. Such a peaceful place and the rose plants
that flowered orange flowers were the symbol of life
here. As I walked on the pathway, I had seen a snail.
It was moving slowly carrying its house on its back.
The patterns on its shell were like signatures of
different seasons. Nature, you are mysterious. The
birds were singing to welcome my pal and me, who
walked into the premises on a hot afternoon. The
wooden sculptures erected in the garden reminded me of
the toys I played with. I had felt at home.
   The first day of the class, I felt like a perfect
alien. But at the end of the class, I felt like an
alien on a known planet. I did not know anyone here
and how would I manage, was the thought that ran in my
mind. I met one of my schoolmates who is a faculty
here, my uncle’s friend, a few long-forgotten
acquaintances too. It’s a small, tiny world, filled
with surprises. 
  Some lovely paintings were displayed on the adjacent
walls of the lobby. From the place were I sat, these
paintings looked beautiful and conveyed a different
message than when I stood in front of them. The
colors, strokes, and the concept seemed to be totally
different. I shifted to next sofa and these paintings
looked different again! Finally, I got up and stood in
the middle of the passage. The colors were magical.
The same paintings during the evenings would have
looked different. They would have stolen the hearts of
romantic people, when the moonlight fell on them.
Light and it’s mysteries. Truly amazing!
   I knew people were watching me, but unfortunate
they would never understand what I was looking at/for.
One more cup of coffee would definitely help me think.
By the way, too much of coffee is bad for health, just
to warn you. Long time back one of the favorite coffee
shops was serving black coffee with orange juice! Do
not ask me how it tasted, I was not one of the lucky
ones to have tasted it. All I know is that my relation
with this place will evolved with time like a tender
bud blooming.
  I have lots of interesting things to narrate about
this place. But that shall be later. 
  There are places or people or inanimate things that
inspire most of us at different walks of life. This is
one place that has helped me take decisions that might
change my life completely. Well, I draw my inspiration
from places I visit or inanimate things :) What about
you?
