Alternative Therapies??

Hi for all,

There is a lot of noise and claims made by the alternative therapies and 
there scuess. But how much is real truth below it?

In alternative therapies there are two main therapies "Ayuerveda" (Indian 
Medical Science) and "Homeopathy". Also it includes other less well known 
therapies like "Magnetic Therapy","Aromatherapy" etc.

But how much exactly these therapies hold truth.

Here I would like to raise some questions on "Ayuerveda" :

There are some critics of this therapy (critics are well known doctors) 
which raise some doubts and question about the claims made by these things.

In Ayuerveda , there are no standardization of medicines which really 
hampers the effect (if it really effective as per the claim). You can 
clearly see the differnce of components used among the branded Ayuervedic 
medicines.

I can understand that somebody will start telling us that how much he has 
benifited from such medicines but then those are personal views and will 
not be counted on scientific basis or on statistical evaluation.

I know that "Sushrutachrya" was the frist person to implement plastic 
surgery but does that mean in todays world of molecular biology and gene 
therapy we should still stick to the old method just because it belongs to 
us.

Some may start arguing that even Americans are trying to petant all this 
medicines but then please remember that they are evaluating each medicine 
on scientific basis like by using double blind placebo effect controlled 
sampling on every drugs then they go for petant.

I think we should start thinking from our brains rather than our hearts.
