Re: [nukkad] Ganesh Chaturthi.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tip of the day: Do you WAH?
http://www.workanhour.com
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Asha,
It all depends on bhavana or faith. The same old story of heart and brain.
One could ask a mother, whose child is born a mongol, an idiot or blind or
maimed: will it not be better for you to throw away this ugly piece of
useless flesh and bones and, instead, adopt a healthy child? You know the
answer. Or, we may ask a man why he is spending lakhs on the treatment of
his 90+ father unconscious with heart failure and diabetic coma, when the
end is very certain and near. No, these things are determined by faith,
bhavana, feeling. If I want to give my sarvasva to my Lord, then an idol of
silver or gold would be nothing compared to what I might like to sacrifice
for His sake. I spend money not on the idol, but, rather, I make a small
sacrifice in the name of Him who has given me all that I have.

[I feel surprised myself that I am talking such language. When I was young,
I too had exactly same thoughts as you have. It is all a matter of
perspectives. As our life experience gathers, our perspective keeps on
moulding and remoulding. And the process continues from birth to birth, life
to life, till we are full, to reach another plane of life and
consciousness].
