Dear Arya
PDF stands for "Portable Document Format" the most poular document
format on the Internet. There are perhaps millons of pdf documents all over
the net. These documents can be viewed with the aid of a pdf reader, the
most popular of which is Adobe Acrobat Reader which is freely avialable on
the net. However for creating a PDF document, the complete Adobe Acrobat
software is needed which includes the Reader component, Writer component and
the Distiller component. AS far as I know this is not freely available. The
Adobe Acrobat PDF Writer will be available as one of the printer. Assuming
that you have the complete Acrobat software installed, here is the procedure
to convert a document of any format to PDF.
1. File->Print
2. Select the printer "Adobe Acrobat PDF Writer"
3. As an optional step select Properties (or something equivalant) to check
the page settings.
4. Select OK (or Print in some cases)
5. You will now be asked to enter the target file name. Enter the file name
and press Save.
That's it you now have your document converted to pdf format.
Hope you find this useful. In case you need a pdf reader, download the
latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader from www.adobe.com
Bye
