Well, the Indian version is already on air since last week on Sony T.V. I happened to watch bits & pieces of the first episode. It featured a lady, who was a badminton ace looking out for a suitable groom. Madhuri asked her about her accomplishments, her views about what sort of partner she was seeking etc. Her parents & some other relatives were also interviewed. The groundwork for the prospective grooms had been already done by the program producers & the parents of the girl jointly & they had shortlisted 3 prospects. One of these prospects featured in the first episode & the others must have featured subsequently. Looks like by now the lady might have selected her groom with help from Madhuri?
Is this the way the program goes in the UK?

The Indianness was very much there as the parents did the shortlisting & were present during the whole process. Only thing different was that it was happening in public view. Can anyone be really frank enough in front of the camera, in a matter as serious as choosing a life partner?

Maybe they should do a follow-up programme after 2 yrs or so to see if such marriages have lasted or ended up in divorces.

Deepak
