i have read the mails with interest.
azim has said something but not countered cheri's points.
if you want to be not surprised you must say where the other person has 
gone wrong azim!
i am old enough to say that this has been happening in my life time.
i have been following at least a part of it.
UN is not a holy cow.
it is subjected to politics.
lobbying and pushing /pulling goes on all the time.
the US has all along been a bully and getting things done the
way they wanted.
the story of israel is essentially that of a small group of people
  suppressed by others wanting to find a land of their own
where they can live peacefully.
have got a peace of land they are very zealous of guarding it.
no other country cld have with stood the hostile neighbors as
  they have.
for a long time egypt was a very hostile country and israel has
  been able to achieve peace with it.
they have their heads screwed on right.
they don't give a damn to US or UN.
their country first.that is their motto.
if a strategic border is militarily advisable that is what they will have.
damn the opinions of others.
india and israel were born more or less at the same time and
their problems have also appeared at the same time.
india believed in UN.where are we?
israel believed in themselves. where are they?
think!
