[nukkad] My poems-Rajababu

  The moving finger writhes and, having writhed, moves on.

LAMENTATIONS

I wonder if the stormy petrel of the pregnant clouds;
Shall even try to douse the sparkling fires,
Burning away the inner recesses of my troubled mind;
.....And if they do manage to do it, just about,
Who shall put out the fires that the rains release?

Don't even bother to find out how the magnificent vision in me,
Crumbled to dust in the face of your loveless stubbornness,
Enemies are known to strike without fear or favour,
Whoever expected treachery from a friend like you?
And even when a friend like you strikes,
Who shall nurse that pain unleashed?

I wonder what would have happened had I,
Chosen to be stable and sober like you,
In the face of what happened, I would have suffered,
Even if I was not drunk with the wickedness of wine,
In either case, I was doomed an ignominius death,
You had already yrefused me, a thirsty traveler,
What wrong did I do if I quenched it a little?

Saplings can bear not the cruel strngth of torrents,
It is an inherent weakness in them, blame not the storms for it,
When the storms sway, the weak boat, the boatman,
Tries to steer it inot pleasant safety,
When the boatman himself dilates the boat,
Who can save the boat form painful inertia?

SWEET PAIN

They walked hand-in-hand on the seashre;
Away from the rat-race, the grime, the folk-lore,
Their hands were ensconsced in togetherness,
People stared at them, they couldn't care less,
Together they watched the mesmersising waves, the foam,
They watched the golden sun go down home;
The sunset left behind its languid tranquility,
Holding everybody transfixed, devoid of motility;

She stared at him in sadness,
She couldn't figure out the entire madness,
Of the system around her, the next day,
He would be flying away,
Off to the USA in search of a post-graduate degree,
Leaving her in sweet pain, a solitary pedigree,
There was nothing she could do about it,
The jigsaw puzzle was falling into place, bit by bit;

And the realization of the secret of the puzzle,
Left her in a piquant tussle,
Between a choice of his future versus his presence,
After all, he would be a part of the effervescence,
For which the effects would be realized by her,
When he came back, but currently the present was a blur,
As of now, she rapidly tried to hold back the name on the ground,
He got up to leave, she clung on to his hand,

Her tears fell like rain on his shirt sleeve,
He felt the pain, but didn't have the time to grieve,
Because all said and done, this was good for both of them,
The time had now come for him to stem,
The gradual decay he was facing in his career;
All said and done, he was nothing more than a mere,
Computer operator in this place, out here,
There, people would care, he would stabilize,
Into a stable job, and gradually metamorphose,
Into a system that would gradually incorporate her;

And thus, they parted on the Marine Drive signal,
One was looking to Heaven,
The other one was going through hell,
The sweet pain, however, engulfed both in its passion,
And separated the couple in their sweet liaision.
