I would very much appreciate if you let me know the title of the Tom Clancy
novel.

Sorry Cherian. I can't recall the title of the book. The book is not of a
class that you should search it out and read. It is a run of the mill
'thriller' with plots, subplots, side plots, circles within circles. Nothing
much to recommend. 

The reason why I recalled part of its plot is the similarity between your
suggestion and the one mentioned in the book.  If ever I recall the title of
the book, I will inform you.
