... granted that "None of the Above" would be a good way for the voters
to make their disappointment regarding the choice of candidates known to
the political parties... but what would happen if our thick skinned
politicians
decide to ignore the peoples response... how many times would re-elections
be conducted...???
Considering the size of our country and its population, the cost incurred
and
taking into account the shamelessness of some of our politicians/ parties
how practical would this suggestion be and at what COST (in terms of money)
?

Husain.

My response was to a theoritical scenario painted by Rawatji. The
theoritical scenario painted by Rawat (i.e. 100% voters opting for 'none of
the above') can never happen. Such block voting is done by Vote Banks. This
concept is the very antithesis of Vote Bank and is intended for the
discerning voters. Once the number of such voters in each constituency is
quantified in an election, and if the number is large enough, even thick
skinned politicians cannot ignore them. After all, Politicians need votes
and here is a large chunk of votes for them to take just by fielding the
right candidate. Hence, in effect, it won't cause re-elections and doesn't
add to cost.
