On a different note, do we really need a violence wracked and debt ridden Burma?
Isn't Bihar and the Nort East enough?

I haven't come across any historical journal/publication which points in that
direction. Even in Ramayan Lanka is portrayed as a seperate kingdom. However there
is a school of thought among some Tamilians that ancient Tamil kings based in
mainland India ruled parts of Northern Sri Lanka which encompass the area currently
termed as Eelam. Perhaps Dr. TV can throw some light into this.
