TWO WORLDS

You live in two worlds, that of the day, and that of the 
night.

The day world runs in Time, and the night world lives in
a realm without Time.

When you count your age, you do so by counting the
days you have been awake in. Nights? You could be ageless, 
or timeless, or unborn.

In a sense you can't be this or that age, because there is
no continuity from day to day, or from a time bound wakefulness
interrupted by timelessness.

In the day you are a man, woman, low or high caste, whore or
pimp or prelate or priest.

At night you are nothing, no one, nowhere, floating aimlessly
through a sea of gray, now frightened, now acting aimlessly, 
now slumbering, now frightened out of your wits.

When you say you are you, don't include what you are at
night. You are then anything but the daytime you.
