You could be right. After all I might be indulging in wishful
thinking.

But if one sees about the effect of his messages and
fast-unto-death (one elaborated in the movie), you wonder wha
frutis his padyatra to Pakistan would have borne.

no. no.
If I am getting the context right, I think I have heard it.

When Gandhi wanted poorna swaraj (42 was quit india year),
British logicked that Indians have no experience of
administration. Thus, if british leave, India will not be able to
run herself.

Then gandhi said those words. You just get the hell out of here,
and don't bother how India will be run. Even an anarchy will be
better than british rule.

Thus he was countering psuedo logic. It was not his appraisal of
the situation.

pakistan. Getting me???? If Mt Gandhi can give 55 cr, more
concessions to muslims at the cost of Hindoos, certainly in a
months duration of his padyatra, he would hv given whole
Hindustan to mohammad ali jinnah, shit.

About giving India to Pakistan, Gandhi had already agreed to make
Jinnah the P.M. of United India, and all top posts, ministry,
judiciary, executives, army posts filled by muslims, ONLY IF
MUSLIM LEAGUE AGRRES NOT TO DIVIDE INDIA.

It was Indian power hungry politicians Nehru, Patel and others
who did not support Gandhi and Gandhi's proposal fell flat. Once
Pakistan got formed, it was out of question to Gandhi single
handedly deciding to give India to Pakistan. You are seeing
things.

About payment to Pakistan, it was promise of Government of India
to pay this amount on which they had backtracked due to looting
of hindu's property in Pakistan. But, the international
reputation of a government not honouring its commitments egts a
beating which would have long repurcussions. Thus Gandhi
supported payment.

Mohammed Ali Jinnah was indeed a shit and entire Pakistan is
still stinking from it.

Once Gandhi, Subhash, Bhagat got India her freedom, several
psuedo claimaints are bound to rise up putting forward their
claims to credit of that.

Whatever philosophical differences Mr Godase had with Gandhi, It
was dirty of Mr Godase to kill someone for philosophical
differences. Nehru never killed anyone, Patel never killed
anyone, Tilak, Subhash never killed anyone. Bhagat Singh never
killed anyone FOR PHILOSOPHICAL DIFFERENCES.

Mr Godase could not do anything constructive in his entire life.
in spite of his so many positive attributes described in this
thread. His only claim to infame was that he killed Gandhi, as
MCG rightly said, a frail, semi-clad, unarmed, 80 year old men
who had just said namaskar to him with folded hands.
