Rajababu sent this message to 'nukkad' on Nov 5, 2000. These
days he is only marginally involved with the list but there
was a time when he was very active.

I am sending this message mainly to encourage more people
to participate on this list.

Regards,
Harshal

Subject: [nukkad] From the desk of Rajababu-Thank you, Nukkad

Normally I try not to get sentimental, but a few happenings on the Nukkad
site have forced my hand. And yes, I am not leaving the site or something,
but I just thought that a Mid term review would be in order. You see, I
joined the site three and half years ago. It was recommended to me by
another friend of mine. At that time, upto say around 6-7 months ago, I was
just a passive observer on the site. I was a cut and paste guy. I would cut
out the mail form my Inbox, and archive it, or forward it to another 12-13
people blindly. There was one main reason for my inactivity. Suspicion. You
know, it's funny, but without ever trying to send a single word in ( I used
to have other sites at that time), I used to view Nukkad as a cartel of
people who are all wired in through a bond other than subscription. You
know, the typical poor-v/s-rich syndrome. The syndrome in which the poor
people think that the rich guys make their money through all dubious
activities. So, I used to assume that Nukkad wouldn't let me in, as in
contribute, and I used to get jealous of Milind Sathe, Ullas Nambiar,
Raginic, Rajan and all the other regulars. So mature, so stable in their
contributions. Why couldn't I get this chance?

Reason why I am saying all this tear jerker stuff, is as follows. I appeal
to all the fence sitters, who are cut and paste guys or gals like I used to
be, to come forward and send their stuff to Nukkad. Not Forwarded stuff, but
your own written stuff and things like that. Of course, Harshal still
rejects some stuff of mine, not that everything gets put up, but that's
editorial licence, not partiality.

Please open up the blocked creative brains that are within you. Nukkad is a
fantastic forum for unleashing your creativity, the Nukkad site moderator
Harshal is a very forward looking person (Yes, I have been paid a kickback
of USD 6 Million dollars for praising Harshal, but I shall surely deny it
when the CBI comes asking, Ha, ha, Ha). Don't waste your years like I did
in the early stages of my life with Nukkad.

And before I forget, I wish to give my heartfelt regards to the following
people, irrespective of my previous sarcasms:

a) Ullas Nambiar-For doing his bit for the children.
b) Milind Sathe: For playing cool in the face of ridiculous criticisms.
c) Pankaj Gupta: For being able to see both the sides of the coin.
d) Zaveri Rohit: For putting up all those wonderful placement addresses on
the Nukkad site.
e) Albert Joseph: For teaching us how to be wonderful parents.
f) Sandeep Budhrani and Albert Joseph: For showing us the practical faces of
religion.
g) Sameer Upadhyaye: For his factual mails
h) Rajan Malhotra and Raginic: For their Maturity
i) Rajesh Bhatija: For his clear headed thinking.
j) To a Nukkad subscriber with a USA NET account: For charging my
batteries.(Name withheld)
k) Nelson Fernandez and Vulcan: For their tolerance factor.
l) Ravi Menon and Raghavan: For their stats on Kerala
m) To all the passive subscribers: Because one day, you shall be the dynamos
of Nukkad.
n) Excluded names: Sorry, feel free to give me gaalis for not including your
name at <my email address>

Best regards,
Rajababu
