Everywhere is walking distance if you have the time.

EXOTIC NAMES

Picking up Zaveriji's thread, were not the ancient names
spectacular?

Scherezaad, Aflatoon, Arstateel [Aristotle], Rustaam [the great Persian
warrior who kills his only son in battle], Ibn Bairuni, the great Outsider,
who wrote much of what we read of ancient China and India, whom the crowned
heads in alien lands accepted as their own, but who found no place in his
own land.

Khayyam, who wrote the great Rubaiyyat, [ruba = 4, he wrote in quatrains].
Imagine him a self made outcast, brooding away from the great caliph's court
because he does not care a damn for him, whiling away time by creating his
great Calendar, penning the immortal Rubaiyyat, the tragic lover's dirge.
Towards the end, when the world is at his feet, he sits in his lonely
retreat in the hills and writes:

Khali amad e man, pur raftam
Na dash azhair, dar Khudi hastam.

I came empty, and am now contained
Not taking from ought, in my own Self maintained.

Nebuchadnazzar! Wow, what a tope of a name!

Grun Hilde, Thor, Keeper of Valhalla! [Do you guys know I am a
Norseman by blood?]

Arya Gilgamesh! Boom!

Genghiz Khan, Kubla Khan, Attila!

Ruqsana! The one who dances away the night, alone on her
roof top garden in the walls of Old Damask.

[Raqs is dancing. Our ruksati comes from this root, as also kisi
ko ruksat dena].

All we have today are, Bob, John, James and Sally.

Alas. Till we meet again

Arya Gilgamesh.
