[nukkad] New Technology - a funny incident

Hello Everyone,

	My mom who is 53 now, learned how to use the computer, internet,
chat, email etc. on her own. She never used to sit on the computer when I
was at home. But when I moved to US about 4 years ago, she learned the
computer and everything on her own with a little assistance from my brother.

	Last week, my mom sent me an email. She was very angry with me. She
said "I saw you were online in Yahoo Messenger. I sent you messages but you
ignored me.". Judging the tone, I called her that night and tried to explain
to her that "I had logged on but I was not at my desk.". It was so difficult
to explain that concept to her. But with some effort and examples I could
convince her that her dear son was not ignoring her but he was just not at
the desk and saw the messages only after he came back to his desk. 
	But this was an enriching experience since I support computer
applications and sometimes the users call me with problems. Sometimes these
problems seem to be ridiculous to me. But now I am a little more patient
with them and try to understand more about their background, their
experience on the system etc. And it definitely helps.
