Thank you for making it clearer.
I daresay I have hardly found any fault with your language.
Just one jarring line in your post:

Do you really feel that procreation and rearing of the young are " downward"
shifts in the human psyche?

I think these two activities, apart from the pleasure they give us, are
perhaps nothing less than fervent worship to Allah/God.( We call it
Ibaadat).
