First of all, I am absolutely flattered and flabbergasted at being in such an august gathering.

There was a time when I thought of myself as being well-read. But the past decade or so has reduced my reading to just the daily newspaper, an occassional read of The Economist and computer industry rags. I rarely get a chance to do some REAL reading - which is picking up a REAL book and reading it from cover to cover. There was one year when I actually maintained a list of books that I had read that year and even a rating. That year was 1979. The year of my H Sc. I still have that diary. I simply canot believe that I had averaged a book every 3 days. More than 100 books in a year!!

Actually, come to hink of it, my H Sc results are more than sufficient reminder of my lack of interest in matters academic. Suffice it to say that I didn't make the Engineering grade. I never wanted to learn medicine anyway. *wry smile*.

My vote for 'best read' would go to Dr. Gupta and Dr. Kaikoba, known these days as Arya.

Sai
