I would disagree with you...

Dating does take place in India, that is if the metros, like Delhi,
kolkata, Chennai, and amchi Mumbai are considered as parts of India...

Dating happens big time, thanks to the many projects that schools and
colleges give to students, enabling overnight stays at friends place...
and stuff like that...

True eyebrows are raised, but what can be done about it, I mean if you
didn't have a date in your age that's not my problem, that's your
problem, and that definitely doesn't mean No dating in India...

For example try buying a pack of condoms during Navratri... trust me
buddy one will find one paying a premium or a stock out...

So conclusion Dating does happen in India, it's just that we are bit
smarter than the older generation, in concealing stuff...


As for going out with one's fiancé... I pity the chap he doesn't know
what he is getting into (marriage), as Ravi put it "none (wife) is too
less, and one is too many..." and as for the reaction of the crowd, I
guess they are a bit jealous, as they didn't get a chance to know their
would be better half before marriage...

As for Christian kids... well I am not sure about the statistics... as
it's my cardinal rule, not to stare at an couple, as I wouldn't like the
same to happen with me... so I never had the opportunity to work out the
statistics... :(

Kids starting dating at 12? Well no problems with me, we all had crushes
in school didn't we?

Am sure Arya sahib will have something to add on the subject

Why has the concept of dating not picking up in India whereas it
is a regular, socially-accepted practice in the west. 

There kids start dating by the age of 12.

Here, if a person goes out with his engaged would-be wife,
eyebrows get raised.

Even christian kids don't seem to date in India.

What is the situation in other countries.
