There are moments when art attains almost to the dignity
of manual labour. -- Oscar Wilde (1856-1900)

What exactly is CLOUDBURST that kills so many people in one go?
-----------------

What is the time range for AM and PM. I understand:
Midnight to Noon: AM
Noon to Midnight: PM

So there is no doubt about 1:00 AM - 11:59 AM are from night to
noon, and 1:00 PM - 11:59 PM are from noon to night.

But when you write 0:15 of night, or 12:15 of night, should you
use PM or AM.

Similarly, 0:30 of day, or 12:30 of day, should you use PM or AM.
-------------------------

What exactly is the purpose of Daylight Saving time? I know how
it is decided, but why is it changed so?

Is it one hour every place it is applicable, or that also changes
from zone to zone?

Previously, phones were having hardware and software (BSNL) locks
for 00 (ISD) and 0 (STD) prefix of phone numbers.

Currently, there is a 95 prefix for phone nos. for within 200 km
radius (AND in the same state). Is there any hardware or software
lock available for this?
---------------------

Phones are working on their own power line coming from phone
lines. That is why phones are on when there is other power
failures. I think it is 12V DC.

previously, there were phone instruments which needed a separate
power connection. These did not work when there is a power
failure.

Recently, I have got a microtel make phone, that does not require
any separate power connection. Only the incoming telephone cables
need to be connected to it, and it keeps on working even in case
of power failures. It has all displays, illuminations, etc.
Though I have put batteries in it, I guess that is for memory
storage, in case the line goes dead altogether.

The question is: Can I tap this telephone cable power to run some
torch when there is general power failute but phone is lines are
working? how? Any circuit?

Hope BSNL does not mind. Will they be any wiser?

I am using net on my home pc for mail purposes mostly, connecting
for 3 to 5 minutes till mails come and go.

There is not much surfing, not regular anyway.

The question is: Do I really need a firewall (Sygate personal)
running all the time on my box, considering all the overheads of
it?
------------------------
I am having Advance dialer installed in my box to take care of my
multiple ISP accounts. It is indeed very handy.

It is coming in the systray.

I guess, systray icons are already loaded and running in the
background all the time. Consuming resources.

I want it to remove from systray, and may be put in quicklaunch
tray where these are not loaded all the time, and gets run when I
click on them. With the traffic I am causing that is reasobale
time I can afford.

How to remove it from systray, without uninstalling it, and put
in the quick launch tray.
