In Poland it's a socially accepted custom. But you wouldn't see many
12-year-olds dating. Most of them are still convinced only the people of
their own sex are reasonable [especially boys]. It usually changes at about
14 or 15, and that's the average age of the ' beginners ' [speaking of
dating, of course].
