Dear Raginiji,

Reading your quote above about your buddy living across the seven seas made 
me remember a poem I had written a LONG time ago when I was in the seventh 
grade. I had written this poem on the Bangalore Talk list but I do not think 
I have included it on this "nukkad" list, so I am going to reproduce it 
here. If this has been sent before, please forgive me.

My Red Rose -- by Bharat Kapadia

O Red Rose, where art thou,
I have a great need for you now.
My Red Rose is not lost to me,
But is far away, over the great sea.
When! o when will our meeting be?
Loneliness haunts me, as you can see.

Remember when you left me before,
You said you would return, of that you were sure.
When will the time for our meeting come?
I am waiting for you, so disdain and glum.

There was one more stanza to this poem, but I seem to have have forgotten it 
(old age, you know!). I will write again if miraculously, I remember that 
last stanza.
