an explanation followed saying it was

almost all the exchanges are now electronic.
so a dynamic lock to selectivly block the calls
will be available in the exchange.
look at the tlephone directory for details.
if available.
in my town the last directory was published in 1997

retained even if you disconnect from the line and also
for the speaker phone to work if you have got it.
the batteries power all these extra items
