---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Do NOT fail to find the fun. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- While we are at it, why do we get a beer pouch stomach, if that is the term. Does beer increase fattening? I have heard that beer is cold so it takes away heat of the body and is good for health. Doctors! please support this myth, for god's sake. :) -------------------- When we used to drink in college, and later on in initial days (actually: years; more actually: a decade) of service, our favourite action was putting a burning matchstick in the just emptied bottle of harddrink (rum) after shaking the bottle well so that remaining alcohol evaporates in the bottle. Anyone done that? ------------------- Why does taking lots of snacks with alcohol causes vomitting? ------------- Why does whisky causes hangover, but rum does not causes it? -------------- Best method of getting over the hangover next morning:- Take one peg Why that? -------------- Sweats increase intoxication. Lemons etc reduce it. Why? -------------- What is X, XX, XXX nomenclature. Mind you, I am not asking about porn. I am asking about rums, etc. ------------ Horses are forced to drink alcohol so that they run better. I have heard of some rum called "ghoda daaru" (ale for horses). Which one is this? ------------ nandkishor dongare wrote: > Rawat-sab, > I think you mean beer when you refer to alcoholic > beverages, because bear may not contain any alcohol at > all (unless of course it has drunk the beer with > alcohol cotent). Nandu Bhai, :) nice reply. I don't know about the bear having consumed alcohol, but you can believe that I had consumed it before writing so instead of usual "kadam ladkhadaana", it was "keyboard ladkhadaana". > Jokes apart, Indian beers do contain more alcohol that > their Western counterparts and still we Indians do not > get 'HIGH ENOUGH' with mere beer so we have to turn to > the real HARD DRINKS which may typically contain > alcohol from 30 to 40 % either by weight or volume. > > Trust you are enlightened enough. "thahariye hosh mein aa luu.n" to samajhaaeeyega. > CHEERS. BOTTOMS UP. :) How did the term originate? Never heard it with anybody drinking milk or any other liquid. ------------------------------- 'Shal, What could be the content in draught beer? Oh bangalore. -------------------- Mubashir wrote: > > Beer having high alcohol content may not be common in western countries but surely they are in India. The Indian beer market is skewed 60:40 in favour of strong beer(8%-10%v/v). Welcome back. What a thread for your relaunch. -------------------- > Ravi Menon wrote : > The beers that have higher levels of Alcohol are not very common. I thgink its just for people who think they oughtto get a kick from beer drinking without the guilt of "hard liquor". Drink khajuraho, and drink haywards 5000. You will know the difference. --------------------------- Ragini wrote: I know no body is ready to take your clue. Or our own Maneka ji. ------------------------ To Bharat also, Mea Culpa ------------- btw, there was a stupid piece of lyrics in one amitabh bachchan done song (Kishor Kumar). NASHA SHARAAB MEIN HOTA TO NAACHATI BOTAL Probably the writer has never taken any health tonic because he might have observed: TAAKAT TONIC MEIN HOTI TO MOTI HOTI BOTAL. ------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, use the form at: http://www.mumbai-central.com/nukkad/#options This list is archived at: http://www.mumbai-central.com/nukkad/archive.html
