Ameer Ali bhai,
Bhaiya also means a brother, just as bhai means a brother. This is a sign of
respect that people offer to each other, especially if they do not know the
other person very well. (In which case, they would be friends and their
banter would be friendly as opposed to respectful).
I do NOT know where Rawat bhai is from so I cannot tell, but when I was
growing up in Bombay (Oops, Mumbai), we were taught to call somone bhaiya
(or bhai) if he was elder to you or if you did not know him very well.
