if one were to build a hypothesis on possible causes of suicide in india,
could these be -

1. a get rich economy built on a stay-stable foundation?

2. estrangement between spouses, lovers?

3. sense of rejection?

4. loneliness?

How come you missed two important factors :

1) Demand of more and more dowry by the in-laws of the newly wed, driving
the girl to take to the roof of the building or reach for the bottle of
poison or a can of kerosene.
2) Strained relationship between mother- in -law and the daughter- in- law,
while the husband is a meek sissy.
3) Prolonged and incurable illness with no remedy in sight.
