[nukkad] Why brides don't burn grooms

There was a question raised sometime ago as to why we hear only of 
bride burning, not groom burning. Given below is one perspective, 
penned poetically, taking inspiration from the royal poet of the 
list. [In India, there has been a tradition of honouring a 
renowned poet as Raj Kavi or Darbari shair].

When the groom
Brings home the bride
He cuts her support
 From every side.

She's vulnerable
And he's thus able
To burn her off
Without sneer or snide.

When the bride
In all her right
Tries to resist
Look at her plight.

If she tries
To burn her man
She challenges the lion
In his own den.

A groom is a groom
He can wield the broom
To cleanse his house
Of 'pest' and gloom.

A bride is a bride,
She just can't slide,
 From one vacuum*,
To the other vacuum**.

* Her matrimonial home is a vacuum when bereft of matrimonial 
love
**Her parental home she has already left and, therefore, is akin 
to a void, a vacuum.
