[nukkad] alcohol

Dr. Vasudevan posed a query: Why drink alcohol? There has been no 
real answer, just excuses for indulging in the habit, which are 
sought to be passed off as answer.

There is a story that a place was full of nice, god fearing, 
loving men and women who lived peacefully which, of course, was 
not the scheme of things to the liking of devil, who sent his 
deputies to create strife and disturbance among the people, but 
all failed.

Finally, he sent down to earth a particularly crafty minion, who 
boasted he knew how to fix the people of that place. The devil's 
agent went to a farmer, befriended him, and told him he should sow 
grapes in his garden, because there would be good rains. The 
farmer agreed. Sure enough, unlike past several years, there were 
good rains and the farmer reaped a good harvest.

Then the devil's agent told the farmer: You have plenty of grapes 
and have made good money out of them. But, if you want to earn 
still more, I will tell you what to do with those grapes, so you 
will become very rich.

By now, the farmer was convinced of the wise advice of his new 
found friend. He agreed. The devil's agent taught him how to make 
wine out of grape juice. When the wine was ready, which the farmer 
had never seen or known before, he took a sip and it tasted nice 
and gave him a nice feeling. He invited his friends to the wine 
party and all partook of it and thanked him.

That night, the devil's agent went back to hell and saluted the 
devil.

"How come you came back so soon? Who will do your job down 
there?", asked the devil?

"My Lord, please do not worry. Your job is done. I have left 
behind me the devil's brew, called alcohol, which will do the job 
more certainly and assuredly than any of your most trusted agent", 
said the minion.

And, sure enough, the world has not known peace ever since.
