Dear Taher,

I have NEVER been to a pub, since I have NEVER had ANY alcohol knowingly. I 
say knowingly, because I sometimes used a cold medicine called "Nyquil" when 
I did NOT know that it contained alcohol. After I found out, everyone in my 
family started on non-alcoholic medicine.

I have been inside a liquor store only once. I had gone out shopping with a 
friend of mine who was going to visit his folks back in India and did not 
know that one of his stops was at a liquor store to purchase the one liter 
of liquor that the Indian customs allowed NRIs to bring back home. And I 
guess I have been to restaurants and coffee shops who also sell beer or 
other alcoholic drinks.

Now, after being initiated in the International Society for Krishna 
Conciousness (ISKCON) or the Hare Krishnas as they are popularly called, I 
cannot even drink tea, coffee, or anything with caffeine in it, what to 
speak of alcohol.
