Dear Maheshji:
It seems fair to explain to Anna and other non-Hindi friends what is dhaai
and why it came to be in this poem.

Dhaai means 2 and a 1/2.
The Hindi word for love is Prem, which , when written in Hindi has 2 and a
1/2 letters.
Hence the use of dhaai in the couplet.
