 Dear Rohit,


 There are many other ways to commit suicide.
 (SU-I-CIDE= SIOUX-EYE-SIGHED!)


 Include:

 -Wearing a tight plastic bag on one's face;
 -Cutting the radial arteries;
 -Shooting oneself;
 -Impaling oneself;
 -Hara-kiri(abdominal knifing);
 -Bombing(suicidal,a la terrorists);
 and so on.

Apart from the terrorists' desire to attain swarg(jannat) through their
supposedly Godly actions, I think easy availability of the suicidal tools,
prior experience(near-suicide), prior knowledge of a method's
 quickness/painlessness, and the urgency of  the suicidee's need to die will
 determine the method.
 Psyche plays a minimal role, if at all.

  Generally following methods are used by the prospective suiciders.
  1) Hanging by the neck on a rope
  2) Cosuming poison or excessive intake of   sleeping pills
 3) Setting the body ablaze by dousing in kerosene etc.
 4) Jumping from a high floor
 5) Jumping on tracks below a running train.
  6) Inflicting wounds by stabbings.

  In each of the above case, I guess different psychology works in choosing
  the method to embrace death. Could we enlarge upon the differing mental
  state in each case ??
