HINDUISM

Hinduism is diminished when we think it a religion or a system 
of faith.

It is the ancient of pulse of the people who have lived on Hind, and
have died and scattered in her ashes.

Hinduism is far greater than a God-King who abandoned his wife to
placate the ministers, or a recluse who sits covered with ashes
with serpents round his neck, and who can't seem to get it right
with his wife even across two lifetimes.

Hinduism is not the Seven Goddesses, the Six Avataras, the Five 
Ashramas, the Four Gurus and the Three Gunas.

Hinduism is more vast than the mean little priests of yore, who dictated
into the scriptures their 5 % on the side, or the saber rattling
Rajputs and Dogras and Mauriyas and Baleshwars who fought with
each other so well that the country never united, till they lost out
to the Yavan, with Book in one hand and the sword in the other;
or the penny stealing, double cheating merchants, the sahukars,
seths, who have taken from the children of India for millennia and
are stealing still.

Hinduism is far greater than the turmoil she finds herself in, with
hands down the worst naukarshahis, harami halalis, dhallas who
sit on benches and mete out justice, vultures who are vakils,
and politicians who would shame a prostitute in viles.

Hinduism is the hard hands of the kisan, the tired bones of the
mill worker, the quiet patience  of the mother with 5 children
and not 400 rupees to spend in a week, but who can smile and
her white teeth will light up any universe.

Hinduism is the sweat, the craft, the toil, of her very own children,

the Shudras.
